Under the watchful eye and mentoring of Mrs Golding, a group of students created a newspaper article that reviews a year at Radcliffe Riverside. For the last 5 weeks the students have met with Mrs Golding on a Friday P5. The article has now been passed to the Radcliffe Times for publication in the paper.
The students news team is made up of:
Macauley Holmes and
Danielle Broderick - Y7,
Zoe Bonney and
Jenny Hay - Y8,
Kenny Barrington and
Katherine Grady - Y9,
Louise Aiton and
Simon Doodson - Y10
All students worked very hard and had some great ideas to continue doing the newsletter next year. Missing from the photo is Simon as he was getting presented as Head Boy as the photo was taken.
A NEW RECORD! 1 WEEK - 104,067 VIEWS ON OUR GALLERY
That's right - over the last 7 days (since prom), we've clocked up over 100,000
image views on our gallery - just beating last years record. Pictured above are
a few year 10 students on a recent Blackpool outing and by this photo's standards
- the sky really is the limit! Click

The participants from Riverside were; Jodie Harvard, Lauren Hibbert, Josh Robertson,
Liam Garlic and Patrick Kay. Also Rachel Halsall and Rebecca Mattatia (not
pictured). All of the team performed well and were a credit to the school.
Each be receiving a certificate of their participation. Well done!!! Click

Pictured above, the best band ever to emerge from Radcliffe Riverside School - Fevered - and they just proved it by snatching the first prize of £100.00 at the Radcliffe's Got Talent competition. Oliver is missing from the photo above but apparently he bent down to tie his shoelaces just as the pic was taken!
The standard was understandably high but Fevered proved that a little experience can go a long way when it comes to competitions. A well deserved £70.00 second prize went to Y7 super singer Michael Morley and third was taken by the evening's hosts Jamie and Braidley ... watch out Radio One! Big thanks to all who took part and made this evening the success it was.
Pictured above is RRS Student Joseph Lilley who brought runner up prize back to Radcliffe in the National Year of Reading competition - plus £25.00 vouchers for himself.
The winning entries were chosen because the reasons given by the entrants for choosing their articles demonstrated that what they had read touched them personally. On behalf of the school, we'd like to congratulate Joseph on his award.
There comes a time when everyone must go - and unfortunately the time came for Year 11. Nobody left without signing shirts though and if Shane Riche was here, he'd have had a field day - but it remains to be seen whether DAZ will remove the marker stains off shirts!
Then again, it's not as if they're going to need them again really :o( how sad ....

Yes - you heard it here first! Mr Burns caught a massive fish and is pictured above telling all the boys about it.
Wishful thinking Mr Burns - it's actually a teamtalk during the
game where Riverside played hosts to Broadoak for their friendly rugby league
fixture at Stadio del Radcliffe -
AND WON! - well done lads

Year 9 headed down to Salford University for their Rugby League tournament. As 6 teams turned up, we were able to play 5 games with the top 2 qualifiying. Hopes were high as we won our first game 3-1. Unfortunately we were unable to win another game with us drawing 2 and losing 2. All the games were close affairs and the standard was really high.
Star men for the Year 9's were Oscar Threlkeld and Josh O'Mara.
