Dear Parent / Carer,

As you are aware school closes at 1.00pm on Thursday this week for the Easter holiday, and we have decided to make this a non-uniform day for our students who contribute £1.00 towards our chosen charities that we are currently supporting.

Greggs, the Bakers, raise money each year for Cancer Research at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. There will be a sponsored 5 mile Run and a 1 mile family Fun Run at 11am on Sunday 4th May at Heaton Park, Prestwich. Last year our school had several participants in the Fun Run and some of our pupils represented the school at the presentation of the cheque to the Hospital. You may have seen this in the local press or in our school newsletter. We hope to raise even more this year. Sponsor forms and further details are available from the school offices.

Our English and ICT departments at school have become involved in a global communications project with a school in Sierra Leone in Africa. After recently meeting with the Director of the school and hearing about the financial struggle to educate their children, our staff are convinced it would be an extremely worthwhile cause to help them provide education for as many of their students as possible.

We hope you will support us with our fund-raising and allow your child to take part in the non-uniform day, and that you have a pleasant and enjoyable Easter break.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely
